EWPTech provides distributors, retailers, and contractors complete engineered wood product floor layouts, all of which include:
- AutoCAD ® and PDF placement layouts showing location of all engineered wood products and hardware.
- Materials list that includes quantity, length, depth, and series of I-joist, LVL & rimboard.
- All hangers required for I joist and LVL, with Simpson and USP nomenclature
- Standard engineered wood products details.

How it works
EWPTech eliminates the overhead cost of a full time designer, equipment, and operating cost. We provide accurate layouts based on your EWP inventory and manufacturer. Layout based on the architectural plans and specifications you submit. Quick turnaround time and personable service is the objective of EWPTech. EWP layout design service fees are based on the total lineal foot of material for the project; I-Joist, LVL, and rimboard. Layouts are provided to the client via email, in AutoCAD ® and PDF Format. The material list is sent in PDF format, however for an additional fee can be entered into a Excel ® spreadsheet that will allow you to easily enter cost per LF / pc for estimating purposes. EWPTech is not an Engineering or Architectural Service. We are experts in engineered wood product design.
How to get started
A complete set of architectural plans including the foundation plan, first and second floor plans if applicable, all elevations, and the EWPTech Service Request form, completed in full. Loads are calculated based on the information supplied by the client. EWPTech will not make assumptions for loads or framing techniques that are not clearly detailed on the set of architectural plans submitted by the client. Architectural plans may not be returned. If you are in need of additional services not listed, please contact us to discuss your needs.
Fees For EWP Layout, Design, and Estimating Services
- EWP Design is based on $0.05 per lineal foot of I Joist, LVL, and Rimboard Material. This includes a layout(s) and materials list for your project in AutoCAD ® and PDF Format.
- Minimum job price is $100.00 per layout.
- All plans will be delivered via email, however plotting services on white bond paper is charged at a rate of $3.00 per sheet. This charge includes shipping.
- Materials list in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format is an additional $10.00.
- Provide us with your EWP pricing, and we can provide you with a complete Estimate in Microsoft Excel for an additional fee of $25.00.
- EWP sizing calculations provided for an additional fee based on the number of calculations required.
Payment of invoice due upon receipt unless prior arrangements are made. Payment is to be made by check, or for your convenience with MasterCard or VISA via PayPal.
